[image description: Slingababy bubble reading "I joined Slingababy training for learning more about babywearing (I was already a babywearing educator) and to have different perspectives about it. This course totally met my expectations: I found really interesting seeing how the same things can be done in so many ways and I totally loved this school's point of view...it really helps thinking out of the box. And Lorette is amazing!"]
This may be a long one.... bear with me! I’m go This may be a long one.... bear with me!

I’m going to be honest here. Things are pretty hard at the moment. I miss people. I miss my people, my friends, my family, meeting new friends, seeing babies. It’s not easy being in the business of connection and love and not getting to witness and experience it.

Beyond the social cravings, Slingababy is struggling. I understand. It’s tricky for many at the moment and everything can feel deflating. Low bookings are affecting the school and it is hard to get going. So Suzanne and I (Lorette) got our heads together and thought that we needed to focus our marketing and try to engage our audience (that’s you 🙂 ). Now neither of us feel particularly proficient in this field. This is not where our strength is. So we are trying.... and the results seem worse than when we do nothing! I would laugh if I didn’t care as much as I do.
Instead I spent quite a big chunk of yesterday pondering how a post asking to share favourite pictures got a grand total of 21 likes and 2 photos from over 6000 followers. Facebook and Instagram algorithms are a mystery to me.

So here is the marketing question for those of you who know more than we do? How can we get the world to know about our courses? You see, as bad as we may be with marketing, our courses get amazing reviews. We truly believe that what we are offering is excellent, and goes beyond what standard carrying courses offer.

Back to the story....
So after shedding many tears yesterday. I reminded myself of something I say during the consultancy course:
“Why do you do what you do? Why are you here? Why do you want to do this (teaching families)?
Sometimes business is hard at the best of times and whether you want to earn a living out of consulting or do it out of your heart, you will find that it is not always made of the part that you enjoy.” I then list the mundane side of work... admin, washing, tidying, packing, advertising, leaflet design, complaints, accounts, policies.... (now some of those can also be fun to some of you)

We want to get to know you! So we are launching ou We want to get to know you! So we are launching our #SlingababyLove, with different themes each time ❤.

We would love for you to share with us your favourite photos. Tell us your stories What do they mean to you?

Lorette’s chosen photo captures many of her favourite things: her kids, smiles and messy play space, all wrapped up in a meaningful wrap.
Suzanne’s chosen photo captures the peaceful woods as well as both of her children (one on her hip and one in her womb).

Now it’s your turn! Share your #slingababylove with us. We can’t wait to see your favourite carrying pictures.

This means that she attended the 4 day course, gathered sufficient positive feedback from their customers and completed a project to benefit the wider community.

Her project was a stream of consciousness about Lotus birth and babywearing.

Many many congratulations! Your dedication, passion and enthusiasm are making a real difference. We look forward to carrying on working with you. Keep doing what you do."

We’ve recently done a big website change to make We’ve recently done a big website change to make things clearer and to be a truer reflection of our beliefs.

You see, Slingababy was born from love. It all started with Lorette’s little boy being born. This led to a big journey of discovery and understanding about humans, love and connection ❤
The most exciting part has been meeting a wide range of people and watch them blossom.
