And PS: remember the JOY 😉
We've just spent the night at the airport for an e We've just spent the night at the airport for an early flight.
Of course kids didn't sleep! Until... it was time for all the queuing and faffing.
Luckily I had taken my giant carrier so she could grab some well needed Zzzzzz

The security team was not impressed and gave me a couple of challenges to earn the right to keep Alice up. Sure, I can take my coat off whilst she's still in there 😉 and squeeze through the narrow scanner.

At 8 and a half, she still needs her mamma.
Now, I need to give my hips some Tender Loving Care.

PS: keep the entries for the competition coming, I'm loving them all ❤
I wanted to give our new followers an idea of who I wanted to give our new followers an idea of who we are, so…

I looked through our photos. I couldn’t pick one or a few to represent us.
I looked at our stats.
I looked at our website.
I looked at our feedback.
I looked through our presents.
I looked through my memories,
I looked with my heart….

I decided to share a video of the Facebook photos…
It is so hard to showcase nearly 11 years, 1100 attendees, 206 courses, many trips, many hugs, many humans, many thoughts, many stories…

Slingababy has always been ran from a place of deep love for our fellow humans.

2023 had many challenges. Things had to change. Feelings were felt. Tears were shed.
But as I look back, all I can think of is the difference we made to our world. Hugs were shared, confidence grew, borders were ignored, friendships were formed, acceptance of others and ourselves flourished.

We don’t always get everything right, but we always care deeply.

I look forward to 2024! Will you join us on the adventure?

Hi! I guess you might have landed on our page than Hi! I guess you might have landed on our page thanks to our post yesterday. So I thought it would be nice to get to know each other!

Here are some general facts about me:
I’m Lorette.
I have 2 kids, Samuel and Alice. I home-educate them whilst running Slingababy.
I’m French but I have lived in the UK for nearly 20 years.
I usually tell people I’m 26 but if you’re good at maths you might have realised I’m twisting the truth.
In a previous life I worked as a lab manager in an agricultural research centre, then I moved into event coordination before starting Slingababy.

Here are some more quirky facts about me:
I love coffee.
I live in a motorhome.
I love numbers.
Every 2 weeks I drive for 10-12 hours for my kids to see their dad.
I can’t stand whistling and strong chemical smells (not good for a chemist!)
I like order and boxes.
When I’m upset I wiggle my toes.
I’m learning Italian and BSL.
I make the best American pancakes.
I love Christmas, especially the lights, the food and the people.
I want to know EVERYTHING!

And on that note, I’d love to know you! At least what you’re willing to share 😘
