Such a lovely group of humans 🩷💜🩵 Thank you Cami Such a lovely group of humans 🩷💜🩵

Thank you Camila, Emily, Lin, Sarah and Selina for joining the family! and thank you Linda for re-attending and sharing your wisdom.
I have so much love for my job and I feel so very blessed that I get to meet such beautiful people 🥰

Next opportunity for Slingababy love is this Saturday with the peer support course and two weeks later for the consultancy course. Please note that there will not be a consultancy course in June!
We’ve updated some of our Summer course dates! Th We’ve updated some of our Summer course dates!

There is still space for next week’s course if you need some Slingababy love 🩷💜🩵
The last three weeks have been busy. ✨ I was tea The last three weeks have been busy.

✨ I was teaching the March Consultancy course when I needed to cancel the last afternoon for a trip to A&E with my eldest. Good news: he’s OK! and my lovely students were happy to defer the end of their course (sadly to different times)
✨ I then moved my homes on wheels to our beloved summer campsite.
✨ I went Easter camping with some lovely Slingababy family members.
✨ I spent a half day with the lovely Kirsty 🩷💜🩵 who has now attended the full four days of the Consultancy Course and is joining the hug of Slingababy consultants 🥳
✨ I hosted the online CPPD when we discussed all things money: budget, cashflow forecast, pricing, financial diaries, tax… because running a carrying service involves more than slings!
✨ I spent the last Saturday with four lovely humans discussing all things feeding and carrying. We discussed the intricacies of supporting families in their unique feeding journeys and how we could add slings to help families with all the tools available.

✨ And now to deal with the admin mountain that built up whilst I was otherwise busy!
There is nothing like an in-person hug from our co There is nothing like an in-person hug from our community 🩷💜🩵

There have been many CPPD weekends over the years, 23 weekends to be exact! That is a lot of topics at two workshops per weekend.
I really value those opportunities to learn and grow but my favourite part is, and probably always will be, being with such glorious humans and their unique wonderful hearts.

Thank you for showing up with honesty and vulnerability, with compassion and support, and with laughter, so much laughter!

I love you all so very much!!
As an active Slingababy consultant, you have acces As an active Slingababy consultant, you have access to 2 CPPD weekends a year, each with 2 workshops. That’s 4 workshops a year to increase your knowledge and skills!

We used to call them CPD, which stands for Continuing Professional Development but now we call them CPPD because we always make sure that there is a Personal aspect to it. What we do goes beyond the sling, beyond the technique and beyond the job. What we do is completely coloured by who we are. It just seemed important to acknowledge that nurturing ourselves is as important, maybe even more so, as the professional aspect.

Our community consists of practicing consultants AND “retired” ones. Having a diverse community brings so much wisdom, experience, love and care.

I have so much love for our little (not so little) family 🩷💜🩵 and I can’t wait to see some of them tomorrow for our Spring CPPD 🥳
“I want to know everything right now!!!” “I want m “I want to know everything right now!!!”
“I want my drawing to be perfect, mummy! Why is it not like it is in my head?”
“I’m so frustrated with slings, maybe they are not for me”

We want it all, and we want it now! Learning can be so frustrating, difficult, emotional.
There are necessary steps to be able to learn effectively. We can’t expect doing something for the first time and for it to look like we have done it for years. We need repetition with tweaking. We need to accept that the first attempt is going to be the furthest away from the end result we want (mostly). Every attempt will give us information, new learning components.
This being said, I believe that you cannot go from results to reflection without feeling the feelings and taking the time to regulate them. Being in an emotional state will make it harder for you to process your results, dare I say impossible.
Take the time to hear yourself and to be heard by those that matter to you. This will be so helpful in going forwards in your learning and in processing any difficult situation.

The good news is that the more you practice, the easier the process becomes. Go on, give that frustrating thing another try…
